Matt Freihofer, DMD, MPH
Bio
Dr. Matt is a friendly and dedicated board-certified pediatric dentist who grew up in Missouri. He started his journey at Missouri State University, graduating Magna Cum Laude in Marketing Management with a minor in Chemistry. He then continued his dental education at A.T. Still University in Saint Louis, where he simultaneously completed both his Doctorate in Dentistry and graduated Summa Cum Laude with his Master’s in Public Health. Dr. Matt then went on to attend residency at NYU Langone Health in Columbia, MO to specialize in pediatric dentistry.
Dr. Matt is passionate about promoting oral health for all children. He has helped create free children’s dental clinics in Saint Louis, and has advocated for children’s oral health legislation to our congressmen and women in Washington, DC. His passion for service has taken him across Africa to Sierra Leone and Uganda, where he aided in providing dental care for children in need — experiences he later chronicled in his own published travel memoir. Ready for any challenge here or in the mission field, he even holds certification in Wilderness Emergency Medicine. His drive to serve is rooted in a love of history and heritage. He is a member of the Sons of the American Revolution, and is proud to be the first doctor in his family since the Revolutionary War.
When he’s not in the office, you’ll likely find Dr. Matt cycling on the Monon with his toddler in tow, working on his science fiction novel in a local cafe, or cooking up a TikTok recipe with disastrous results. A lover of books and a self-proclaimed espresso enthusiast, he mostly treasures quality time with his wife, Dr. Monica, their sons Henry and Sam, and dogs Remy (shi-tzu) and Charlie (golden retriever).
